The Jemaa el-Fnaa evening screenings are free and open to all. For cinema-venue screenings, watch marrakech-festival.com for the free or low-cost public accreditation and ticket release, which opens shortly before the festival. Galas are invitation-heavy, but daytime competition screenings are realistic for visitors; book a riad early as the city fills.
