Goodwood Festival of Speed
Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place Jul 15 - 18, 2027 in Chichester, United Kingdom. The dress code is Smart-casual garden party; linen, blazers and summer dresses in the Members' Meeting enclosures and hospitality, no enforced code on general admission, sturdy flat shoes for the hill. Typical cost ranges from 600 to 3500 EUR per person.
Cars from every era of motorsport run flat out up the 1.16-mile driveway of Goodwood House, from pre-war Grand Prix machinery to current Formula 1 cars driven by the people who race them. Manufacturers use it for world debuts, the Cartier Style et Luxe lawn runs a concours alongside, and the whole thing unfolds across an English estate in high summer. It is loud, crowded and unlike any other motorsport event because nothing is behind a fence.

How to attend
Tickets go on sale on goodwood.com in the autumn for the following July and Saturday and Sunday routinely sell out months ahead. Single-day admission typically runs from around GBP 60 to over GBP 100 depending on the day, with grandstand seats, Drivers' Club and full hospitality climbing well beyond that. It is fully open to the public and under-12s go free with a paying adult. Thursday, which carries the Moving Motor Show, is the cheapest and quietest day to get in.
Insider tip
Walk the full 1.16-mile hill before the first runs at around 8am - the whole course is open on foot, the drivers are still standing beside their cars in the paddocks, and by 11am the crowd makes it impossible.
