How to attend
Pre-register at maratona.it in the autumn for the November draw, which is the main and cheapest route in. If unsuccessful, charity places are released online in the spring, and official tour operator Holimites sells hotel-plus-entry packages that guarantee a number. Spectating is free from the passes and roadside, but arrive very early because the roads close hours before the riders pass.

The Passo Giau on the long course is where the day is won or lost, and full road closure means this is the one morning a year you can descend the Sella passes without meeting a car.
