Bernina Gran Turismo
Bernina Gran Turismo takes place Sep 11 - 13, 2026 (road closed Sep 12 - 13; provisional pending final permits) in La Rosa, Switzerland. The dress code is Warm casual layers for fast-changing mountain weather; smart-casual for the paddock and gala functions. Typical cost ranges from 300 to 1500 EUR per person.

A vintage hillclimb reviving the 1929 and 1930 Bernina races, sending pre-war and classic cars up a closed 5.4km stretch of the Bernina Pass from Val Poschiavo to the Ospizio Bernina, climbing 450m through 52 bends. The grid is capped at seventy curated cars split between Regularity and Competition classes. There are no grandstands - you watch from the mountainside, which is rather the point.

How to attend
Spectators buy tickets online through bernina-granturismo.com or watch from marked viewing zones along the pass road; the finish area and Parc Ferme at Ospizio Bernina have food and seating. It is open to the public. Competing is by application or invitation during a set entry window, with cars judged on authenticity rather than show condition. Use the Rhaetian Railway or the Lagalb and Diavolezza shuttle buses.
The organisers state plainly that spectators pay no admission, so there is nothing to buy - just pick one of the marked viewing zones along the pass road.
Insider tip
Take the Rhaetian Railway rather than driving - the Bernina line runs right beside the closed pass road, the shuttle buses from Lagalb and Diavolezza fill quickly, and there is no parking at the Ospizio Bernina finish.
