Formula 1 at Albert Park, a fast parkland street circuit ten minutes from the Melbourne CBD, and the season opener for 2026. Four days of racing, support categories, air displays and concerts turn it into a citywide event rather than a track weekend. The general admission areas are unusually generous, which is why locals treat it as a picnic with engines.

How to attend
Tickets sell through grandprix.com.au, with four-day general admission the affordable entry and reserved grandstands, Paddock Club and corporate suites climbing steeply. It is fully open to the public. Book grandstands well ahead because the popular ones go early, and take the tram rather than driving - Albert Park has almost no public parking on race days.
Insider tip
The four-day general admission wristband is among the best value in Formula 1 - Albert Park is a public park with grass banks all the way round, so bring a rug and change corners between sessions.
