Rally Sweden takes place Mid Feb 2027 (confirm against the WRC calendar published in autumn) in Umea, Sweden. The dress code is Serious Arctic winter kit: thermal base layers, insulated mid-layers, heavy jacket, hat, gloves and properly insulated snow boots - you will stand on packed snow for hours. Typical cost ranges from 500 to 2000 EUR per person.
The World Rally Championship's only full-winter round, run on snow and ice roads through northern Sweden with cars on studded tyres and snowbanks used as steering aids. Now based around Umea, it produces the fastest average speeds on the calendar despite the surface. Standing in a snowbank as a Rally1 car arrives sideways is one of the genuine bucket-list experiences in motorsport.

How to attend
Buy the Rallypass, which covers all competition days, or day passes at rallysweden.com through the Tickster platform; some roadside viewing is free. It is fully open to the public. Plan seriously warm clothing, arrive early for stage parking, and consider a rally travel package if you would rather not drive on ice roads between stages yourself.
Insider tip
Buy the Rallypass rather than single-stage tickets and hire a car with studded tyres - stages sit 30 to 60 minutes apart on ice roads and shuttle options are thin, so mobility is the whole difference between seeing two stages and seeing six.
