A 24-hour endurance race combining the modern Grand Prix circuit with the 20.8km Nordschleife, contested by factory GT3 teams and amateur crews in the same field. Tens of thousands of fans camp in the Eifel forest for a weekend that is part motorsport, part festival, and famously unruly. For the access it gives, the ticket is one of the best-value in motorsport.

How to attend
Buy an advance weekend ticket online at nuerburgring.de - general admission covers vast trackside areas around the Nordschleife and includes basic camping, with grandstand seats charged separately. It is fully open to the public. Book early for the well-known viewing banks, and arrive Thursday if you want a decent camping spot rather than whatever is left.
Insider tip
General admission gets you almost the entire 25km Nordschleife - walk out to Brunnchen or Pflanzgarten on Saturday evening and stay through the night, when the field is still enormous and the fireworks go up over the forest.
