Known for decades as Africa's Major, this limited-field DP World Tour event is played on the Gary Player Country Club course inside the Sun City resort in North West province. The course climbs and falls through bushveld with a famously long, uphill closing stretch, and the resort wraps the week in casinos, waterparks and game reserve access. Prize money per player has long been among the highest anywhere.

How to attend
Tickets are sold online through the official Nedbank Golf Challenge site and Ticketpro, at prices well below European or American tour events. Resort packages bundle accommodation with tournament access and are the simplest way to do the week. Sun City is roughly two and a half hours by road from Johannesburg, or 15 minutes from Pilanesberg airport if you fly in directly.
Insider tip
The 2026 edition has moved to early December, not November - and Sun City sits on the edge of the Pilanesberg reserve, so a dawn game drive before the first tee times is entirely doable and costs less than a hospitality ticket.
