A summer raceday at the Gold Coast Turf Club built around restricted races for horses bought at the Magic Millions yearling sales, with a prize pool that makes it one of the richest days in Australian racing. The sales complex next door runs simultaneously, so owners, breeders and buyers from across the southern hemisphere are all in town at once. How to attend
Buy general admission through the Gold Coast Turf Club or its ticketing partner - affordable and fully open to the public. Reserved dining, packages and trackside marquees cost considerably more and sell out early. The racecourse is at Bundall, a short trip from Surfers Paradise. Combine the raceday with the adjacent yearling sales, which are open to spectators, for the full carnival.
Neither Magic Millions nor the Gold Coast Turf Club publishes a working ticket link outside the summer carnival window, so raceday admission for January 2027 cannot be booked yet - the club releases it closer to the date.
Insider tip
The yearling sales run in the same week at the Magic Millions complex and are free to walk into - it is the best place in the southern hemisphere to see how the bloodstock business actually works.
