Hubertus Hunt, Klampenborg, Denmark, Nov 1, 2026

A ceremonial drag hunt through Dyrehaven, the royal deer park north of Copenhagen, held on the first Sunday of November since the 1900s. Scarlet-coated riders pursue two 'foxes' - experienced riders wearing fox tails - over roughly 8km of forest and open park with substantial fixed jumps, starting from Peter Lieps Hus. A member of the Danish royal family traditionally presents the prizes, and thousands of Copenhageners walk out into the park to watch for nothing.

Insider tip

Do not stand at the meet - take the route map handed out at the park gates and position yourself at one of the big jumps deep in Dyrehaven, where the field passes several times and the scarlet coats come through the beech trees.
