A backcountry freeride festival in the Greater Caucasus, historically part of the Freeride World Tour Qualifier circuit and built around raw big-mountain faces at a fraction of Alpine cost. The vibe is informal and international, with a rider community that skews adventurous rather than polished. Its place on the 2027 calendar is unconfirmed, and the region's tour event has been disrupted in recent seasons.

How to attend

Competitors enter through the Freeride World Tour Qualifier portal at freerideworldtour.com and need a current FWT rider licence. Spectating is free from the resort and designated viewing areas. Independent freeriders reach the terrain on Gudauri lifts with a day pass around EUR 25, and should hire a certified guide given the avalanche exposure. Check the FWT Qualifier calendar before committing to travel, as Georgian events have been cancelled or omitted in recent seasons.

No 2027 Freeride World Tour Qualifier date has been published for Gudauri, and there is no spectator ticket in any case - watching is free and riders need an FWT licence to compete.

Insider tip

Gudauri's real draw is heli-skiing at a fraction of Alpine prices, but the surrounding terrain is unpatrolled and avalanche-prone - hire a certified guide and do not treat a cheap lift pass as permission to explore.
