The world's oldest mountain and adventure film festival, founded in 1952, screening climbing and alpine documentaries in competition for the Genziana d'Oro (Golden Gentian). It gathers mountaineers, filmmakers and alpine-culture devotees, with talks by climbing legends, exhibitions and a mountaineering book fair alongside the screenings. It is the spiritual home of mountain cinema.

Open to the public with affordable single tickets and multi-day passes sold online at trentofestival.it and at Trento box offices; many talks and outdoor-village events are free. Book popular premieres and famous-guest evenings in advance. Trento is an easy train hop from Verona or Bolzano.
The 75th festival runs 24 April to 2 May 2027 and no box office is open yet - single tickets and passes appear on the site when the programme is published in the spring.
