The European Fine Art Fair is the world's premier fair for art, antiques and design, famed for rigorous vetting and Old Masters of museum quality. Around 260 - 270 dealers cover seven millennia of art at the MECC, and museum curators shop here alongside private collectors. The flower displays alone are legendary.

How to attend

Open to the public with day tickets (roughly 50 - 80 euros depending on day, student discounts available) sold online and at the MECC; multi-entry passes exist for repeat visits. The preview days are invitation-based. Book ahead for opening weekend, which draws the biggest crowds.

Tickets for the 2027 Maastricht fair are not on sale yet - TEFAF's ticket shop currently only sells for its New York edition, and the Maastricht ticket page reappears closer to the March fair.

Insider tip

Go on a weekday morning later in the run: dealers have time to talk and museum-quality pieces are still on the walls after the opening-weekend buying frenzy - and yes, the oyster-and-champagne stands are part of the ritual.
