One of Europe's oldest jazz festivals, running since 1961 in a small Norwegian fjord town ringed by 222 peaks, drawing world-class artists to an unusually intimate coastal setting. Around 100-plus concerts fill the week alongside free outdoor stages, harbour shows and a famous late-night club scene. The next edition falls in mid-July 2027, in Norway's traditional 'week 29'.

How to attend
Many street and harbour stages are free; individual concerts (typically 200 - 900 NOK) and festival passes are sold publicly via moldejazz.no from spring. Molde is reached by air to Aro airport or by coastal bus and ferry. Book concert tickets and accommodation together and early - the small town fills completely in festival week.

The free harbour and street stages are excellent, but the late-night jam sessions after the headline concerts are where the festival's legend lives.
