Magical Kenya Open, Nairobi, Kenya, Late Feb 2027 (2026 edition ran Feb 19 - 22; 2027 dates to be confirmed)

A DP World Tour event at Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi, a 1913 colonial-era parkland course that was a long-standing Kenyan institution before being elevated to full European Tour status in 2019. The altitude, kikuyu grass and tight tree-lined corridors reward local knowledge over raw power. It is the tour's most affordable week and the only top-tier professional golf in East Africa.

How to attend

Tickets are sold locally and through the official Magical Kenya Open site at prices among the lowest on any major tour, often under EUR 20 a day. Muthaiga is a short drive from central Nairobi with no shuttle system, so arrange a car or rideshare. The Kenya Tourism Board actively promotes safari extensions to the Maasai Mara or Amboseli around the tournament week, which is the real reason to make the trip.

The 2027 dates are still to be confirmed and the official site carries no ticket section yet; tickets are sold locally in the weeks before the tournament.

Insider tip

Muthaiga sits at around 1,700 metres so the ball flies noticeably further, and the caddies who know the course are worth talking to - this is one of the few DP World Tour stops where you can wander the practice ground almost unimpeded.
