Les Regates Royales - Trophee Panerai, Cannes, France, Sep 19 - 26, 2026 (48th edition)

Classic and vintage yachts have raced in the Bay of Cannes since 1929, and the September regatta is now the closing highlight of the Mediterranean classic season. Metre-class boats, gaff-rigged schooners and a large Dragon fleet race close inshore, so the Croisette itself functions as a grandstand. Evenings turn on the Quai Saint-Pierre, where the fleet moors stern-to beneath the old town.

How to attend

Free to watch from La Croisette, the old port jetties and the Palm Beach headland, where the yachts race close in. To sail you need an eligible classic, vintage, Spirit-of-Tradition or metre-class yacht entered through the Yacht Club de Cannes, with entries opening in early summer. The port village, daily prize-givings and the fleet on the quay are open to the public at no charge. Some Cannes operators sell places on spectator boats during the racing days.

Insider tip

The 12-Metre and 15-Metre classes race closest to shore off Pointe Croisette by Palm Beach - walk out there rather than staying on the main Croisette, then be on the Quai Saint-Pierre around 6pm as the fleet moors stern-to under Le Suquet.
