Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta
Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta takes place Apr 14 - 19, 2027 in English Harbour, Antigua and Barbuda. The dress code is Smart tropical casual, with period flourishes among crews for the Concours d'Elegance. Panama hats and old-school whites are entirely at home here. Typical cost ranges from 400 to 3000 EUR per person.

Some of the finest classic and vintage yachts afloat gather at Nelson's Dockyard each April, from gaff schooners and metre-class boats to occasional J-Class visitors. Racing takes place in Antigua's steady trades off the south coast, but the fleet moored inside the Georgian dockyard is the real spectacle and it is free to walk. It runs immediately before Antigua Sailing Week, so many crews and spectators stay on for both.

How to attend
The moored classic fleet is free to admire along the quays of Nelson's Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a small park entry fee. Watch racing and the famous Gig Race from Shirley Heights and around the harbour. To take part you need an eligible classic, vintage, traditional or Spirit-of-Tradition yacht entered through antiguaclassics.com, with entries opening in the winter. Crew places on classic yachts occasionally come up through the owners' network and by asking around the dockyard in the days before.
Admiring the fleet at Nelson's Dockyard costs only the small national park entry paid at the gate, and the regatta itself sells no spectator ticket - the official site registers competing yachts only.
Insider tip
Time your trip so the Classics run into the start of Sailing Week - they are back to back in the same harbour. The Concours d'Elegance and the dockyard Gig Race are the two moments worth planning the days around.
